Antoine Malette-Chénier began the harp study at the age of 7 with harpist Caroline Leonardelli. He is the proud recipient of several music competition awards: the American Harp Society (2003, 2005), the Ottawa West Junior Music Club (2004) and the Canadian Music Competition (First Place, Final National Audition, 2004). He won the “ CBC Young Artists Competition”  which entitled him to his first professional studio recording (Ottawa 2007). He recently played with the Ottawa Symphonic Orchestra as a guest harpist for the 2007 opening concert at the Ottawa National Art Center. Antoine has been selected as soloist for the 2008 European tour with the Ottawa Youth Orchestra. In 2009, Antoine wins the Harold Crabtree Foundation award at the National Art Center Orchestra Bursary contest. He also won in 2009  a first prize at the Canadian Music Competition  provincial and national  finals .

Antoine is studying at the  Conservatoire de Trois-Rivières with harpist Caroline Lizotte. He is principal harpist for  the Orchestre de la Francophonie canadienne and the  Orchestre du Réseau des Conservatoires du Québec.

Antoine regularly performs with different regional orchestras and for many special events. He has already reached a high performance level and started to formally plan a career as a classical harpist.
